Office Pre-reno, black walnut paneling on the walls left this space feel cave-like. Apple green paint (Huntington Green by Benjamin Moore), plus the lively pistachio-and-cream Quadrille wallpaper behind the shelves, brightened up everything. Color Trick: It might horrify some homeowners, but painting woodwork -- including the trim, the bookcase and the door -- can transform a room.

Breakfast Room White faux-bamboo seats from CR Laine tone down the formality of the oval mahogany table their website. Fleming's Bedroom Fleming's mattress stretches 72 inches and can be upholstered and skirted at a dotty fabric from Lewis & Sheron Textiles. Translucent silver sunglasses top the Barbara Cosgrove chandelier and bedside lamps. Shade Trick: Solid Duralee cotton drapes and Euro shams pick up only 1 color (deep pink) from the headboard and the bed skirt.
Sydney's Bedroom Back in Sydney's glam-girl bedroom, a classic tufted headboard becomes chic with amethyst linen. The stools are from Jonathan Adler. Color Trick: Even lighting may add colour look at more info. The Stray Dog Designs chandelier introduces chartreuse into the room. The color also appears in the bed skirt as well as the drapes.

Exterior Constructed in 1967, the three-story Georgian-style home is modeled following a historical Delaware residence that dates back to 1774. Shelly kept the brick and black-and-white facade as is, therefore there is no tip-off into the vibrant colour scheme indoors.
